North Sauty Waterfowl Management Area (NSWMA)

Tired of the hassle of fighting the crowds on public land, this is your chance to have a quality 
hunting site at NSWMA, next to North Sauty Waterfowl Refuge.

Have your own private hunting area next to North Sauty Waterfowl Refuge, 
which winters more ducks per acre than any refuge in Alabama. This NSWMA 
will be a Mallard Restoration Project, well and pump installed for dependable water supply.

 The location is located on a creek that run into refuge bottomland hardwoods on the
west side of North Sauty Waterfowl Refuge.  This WMA borders Farm 101 and a half mile 
from Caney Creek, Mallard Haven and close to the recently developed farm the Mallard Place. 
  Also, only a few hundred yards to the Alabama Waterfowl Association's Mallard Rearing Facility
 on Caney Creek.

This is a proven waterfowl area with traditional over-wintering populations and the best waterfowl 
hunting in Alabama.  This site will furnish you with opportunities for both ducks and geese. 
 Mallard harvest in this area runs 60 percent, with teal, pintail, widgeon, gadwall and most all 
species use this area.

This will be the first time foodplots have been manipulated  and managed for waterfowl at this site 
and will be managed by experienced professionals with Southeastern Watershed and Wildlife 
Consultants.

Put together your own group and share this great duck hunting opportunity with your friends. 
You can hunt this 12 acres of flooded foodplots,  and setup your own hunting rules and days 
to hunt. 

This is a very private place nestled in a 12 acre hole and bordered on each side by trees and one 
side by a watershed.  This is only 200 yards to the refuge.  When this area floods from winter rains
it is a river straight to the northwest lake and bottomland hardwoods part of North Sauty Refuge
over 500 acres of flooded food in a mile radius not counting the over 5,000 acres on the refuge.

Lease by yourself or a group of waterfowlers can share lease expense every year.  You will have
 the first option for the next year.  Make your own hunting schedule.  It is recommended only 
4 days of hunting per week until last 7 days of season, but you had better hunt when it rains hard.  

TWO pit blinds installed and set up for hunting three people in each pit.
